Why Should You Listen to TFB

When i first discovered them way back in 2013, i was a sophomore in highschool. As one can imagine, it’s a time where many things are happening, physically and emotionally. It can be tough for many to navigate. And for me, that was the case. I felt almost lost. Then i heard flashlight for the first time. It almost sounded like poetry with a fantastic acoustic track in the background. I felt like it was speaking to me. And the guitar was mesmerizing. I was just learning to play as well so i was hooked! Some really funky chords that made so much sense in the end. It had that indie-acoustic feel that i loved but also like a blink 182 pop punk vibe. While some may say this is controversial, this is the issue i have with explaining the band. They are so unique. Then i heard Twin Sized Mattress and knew this was the band for me. While i can sit hear and describe every bit of the band, it is best to just listen for yourself. I’ll link flashlight below for you. I met this journalist at one of The Front Bottoms concerts a bit ago and he wrote an article explaining what I couldn’t. “The distinct folk punk voice of Steven “Brian” Sella helps make the Front Bottoms stand out from other similar bands and adds a special charm to the group’s sound. The thing I’m especially glad to see is that they haven’t lost the raw, relatable, and witty lyrics that only the Front Bottoms could write.” This is accurate. A special charm is a great way to put it. I truly recommend listening to them, it might be for you!
